For over 130 years, Herzog Hospital has provided essential healthcare for all Israelis through every war and crisis since its founding in 1894. Today, as Israel faces the challenges of the October 7th war, Herzog once again rises to the occasion.

This year, trauma and anxiety are impacting all levels of society. Herzog’s dedicated team is working tirelessly around the clock to deliver critical care and create a secure environment for those in need.

Here’s how Herzog is making a difference:

Expanding Mental Health and Psychotrauma Services
Herzog’s Community Mental Health Center and Metiv Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma are providing vital care to survivors, soldiers, and their families.

Designated as Israel’s Official Center for Mental Health Support for Soldiers
The Ministry of Defense has chosen Herzog as the official center for soldiers and security personnel who have been classified as suffering from mental health/PTSD challenges.

Supporting At-Risk Young Adults
Herzog’s Mental Health Clinic for At-Risk Young Adults, established three years ago to help young people with mental health challenges, has significantly expanded to address the needs of survivors and friends of those affected by the October 7th attacks.

Emergency Preparedness with Sheltered Underground Facilities
Herzog’s Sheltered Underground Emergency Hospital, designed to withstand missile and chemical attacks, has expanded its capacity to 340 beds to accommodate patients from conflict zones in the south and north.

These efforts are in addition to Herzog’s ongoing leadership in mental health, PTSD treatment, physical rehabilitation, respiratory care, and geriatric medicine.
